Cuneiform documents from Boghazköi

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The cuneiform documents from Boghazköi (short: KUB ) are a 60- volume scientific series in which up to 1990, thematically sorted, text publications in the field of Hittitology were made.

The series was launched in 1921 and replaced the temporarily suspended series of cuneiform texts from Boghazköi . After the Second World War, the cuneiform documents from Boghazköi in East Germany were issued, while in West Germany the cuneiform texts from Boghazköi were continued in parallel. While the first 32 volumes were published by the Vorderasiatische department of the Staatliche Museen zu Berlin (today Vorderasiatisches Museum Berlin ), the German Orient Society published the following two volumes. From volume 35 the Institute for Orient Research of the German Academy of Sciences was responsible for the publication. With the turnaround , the series was discontinued.
