No Power for Nobody is the name of the second album and at the same time the title of the most famous song by the band Ton Steine Scherben . The double LP from 1972 is also referred to as " the white one " because the cover is kept very simple - white background, black writing.

The album as a whole, as well as the song No Power for Nobody denounces social and political grievances. The texts call for resistance to the existing system. The call for a replacement of the capitalist system becomes most evident in The Final Battle We Win . At the same time, “No power for nobody” is a parolized translation of the term anarchy .

Meaning as a catchphrase

According to Rio Reiser , the slogan comes from the anarcho newspaper Germania . By no means unintentionally, the title like “ Break what breaks you ” is a catchphrase. So even today - more than 40 years after its publication - “No Power for Nobody” can still be found on banners of the anarchist, autonomous and alternative scene or as graffiti on house walls - according to the request in the text “Write the slogan on every wall.”

After the federal election in 2005 , even the newspaper Spiegel ran the headline : “No power for nobody”, alluding to the election result, which was confusing for pollsters and politicians.
