Kerrin James Sheldon (* 20th century ) is an American photographer and documentary filmmaker .

Career

At the beginning of his career, Kerrin James Sheldon worked as a photographer for The New York Times , CNN , GoPro , The Weather Channel , Budweiser and Facebook, among others . He has also been involved in the film business since 2013, either as a cameraman or film editor for documentaries . The film Hollow by his wife Elaine McMillion Sheldon , whom he married in 2013, was produced with the help of Kickstarter.com . 530 backers donated a total of $ 28,788. In the same year he made his directorial debut in the documentary short film about Seamus Heaney , which was released under the title For Seamus , and was also responsible for the script.

For the documentary film Heroin (e) , Sheldon and his wife received an Oscar nomination in the category " Best Documentary Short " at the 2018 Academy Awards . The film was released on Netflix on September 12, 2017 . However, the Oscar award went to Frank Stiefel for his contribution Heaven Is a Traffic Jam on the 405 .
