Under a track pads is understood additionally attachable rubber pads that the crawlers of heavy military tracked vehicles ( tanks can be adapted), in order to preserve the ground when driving on public roads.

The service life of these chain cushions cannot be determined, as it depends on the ground used.

The chain pads visible in the picture ( Leopard 1 family), made in Germany, are pushed onto the side of the chain under two bars and secured with a spring nose.

Well-known manufacturers of chain pads are, for example, Diehl , Hutchinson Industries , Trelleborg Viking and William Cook Defense .
