Keven McAlester

Keven McAlester is an American director , screenwriter and producer of documentary films , which at the Academy Awards in 2015 along with Rory Kennedy for the Oscar in the category Best Documentary for his work on Last Days in Vietnam was nominated. McAlester grew up in Texas and initially worked as a radio DJ and music journalist , including for the New Times Los Angeles . In 2005 he began his film career with You're Gonna Miss Me , a biography of rock musician Roky Erickson . In addition to his work as a documentary filmmaker, he also worked as a director and producer on the music video Dance with Me by the alternative country band Old 97's from Dallas .
