Kevin Danso (born September 19, 1998 in Voitsberg ) is an Austrian football player of Ghanaian descent.

Career

society

Danso began his career in England with Reading FC as a striker . He then played with Milton Keynes Dons . In January 2014 he moved to Germany to the youth performance center of FC Augsburg . Having A-Juniors had played initially for, Danso debuted in May 2016, the second team of Augsburg in the Regional when he takes on 33rd matchday of the season 2015/16 against the second team of FC Bayern Munich in the 27th minute for Max Reinthaler was substituted on.

In November 2016, Danso was in the professional squad for the first time against 1. FC Köln . He made his Bundesliga debut in March 2017 when he started and played through against RB Leipzig on the 23rd match day of the 2016/17 season . At the age of 18 years and 165 days, Danso was the youngest debutant in Augsburg Bundesliga history. He also signed his first professional contract in Augsburg. On November 4, 2017, the 11th matchday of the 2017/18 season, he headed his first Bundesliga goal to make it 1-1 against Bayer 04 Leverkusen in the 49th minute.

In August 2019, the defensive player returned to England and switched to Southampton FC on loan . Southampton decided against a permanent signing of the defender and so Danso returned to Augsburg in June 2020 after the loan ended during the current season. For the 2020/21 season he was awarded to the second division team Fortuna Düsseldorf .

National team

Danso has already played for various Austrian youth national teams. With the U17 selection , he took part in the European Championship in 2015 . Danso was used in every game in Austria.

In May 2017, he was appointed to the senior national team for the first time . On September 2, 2017, he made his national team debut when he came on for the injured Sebastian Prödl in the 27th minute of the World Cup qualifier against Wales .

In September 2018 he played against Armenia for the first time for the U21 team .

Personal

Kevin Danso was born to Ghanaian parents in Voitsberg , Styria . He moved to the UK with his family at the age of six .
