Kevin O'Connell
Kevin O'Connell (born November 27, 1957 in Long Island , New York ) is an American sound engineer .
Life
O'Connell held the record for the most Oscar nominations without having won the award; from 1984 to 2008 he was nominated for an Oscar 20 times. It wasn't until his 21st nomination in 2017 that he received his first Oscar in the Best Sound category for Hacksaw Ridge - The Decision .
He also won an Emmy for his work on Path to the Wild (Original: Lonesome Dove ) and was nominated for 11 Cinema Society Awards , two Satellite Awards and a BAFTA Award .
