Life

Getting started - The O'Kanes

Kane began his musical career in the 1970s as a songwriter and session musician in Los Angeles. During a short stay in Nashville in 1979 , he was signed by a local music publisher. A little later he signed a record deal with Elektra . On the label he released the album, Kieran Kane , and several successful singles. These included You're The Best and It's Who You Love in 1982 . Then he fell out with his record company. One could not agree on the musical design of his next recordings. In 1985 he founded the acoustic duo The O'Kanes together with Jamie O'Hara . After three successful and critically acclaimed albums, the two separated in the late 1980s.

Own label: Dead Reckoning

In 1993 he produced the solo album Find My Way Home . Again there were excellent reviews, but sales fell short of expectations. Again there were arguments with the record company. With his like-minded comrades Kevin Welch , Mike Henderson, Tammy Rogers and Harry Stinson, the producer of his solo album, he finally founded the independent label Dead Reckoning Records . The aim was independence from the commercial establishment of Music City. The own musical ideas could be realized without compromise. The talented musicians supported each other in their projects and thus managed with little financial commitment. As Dead Reckoners , the five produced the 1997 album A Night Of Reckoning . Kieran Kane has also released several solo albums. For some he painted the cover template himself. Kieran Kane is considered one of the best songwriters on the country scene. His most successful title was I'll Go On Loving You , which became a super hit for Alan Jackson in 1998 .
