Kim Boutin (born December 16, 1994 in Sherbrooke ) is a Canadian short tracker .

Career

Boutin had her first international success at the 2014 Junior World Championships in Erzurum . There she won the silver medal with the relay over 3000 m. At the beginning of the 2014/15 season she started in Salt Lake City for the first time in the World Cup and achieved ninth place over 1500 m, seventh place over 1000 m and third place with the relay over 3000 m. In the further course of the season she achieved two more third places with the relay, a third place over 1000 m and a third place over 1500 m. In Dresden she won her first World Cup victory with the relay. Her best placement at the 2015 World Championships in Moscow was fourth place over 1000 m. She finished the season in seventh place in the 1000 m World Cup. In the 2015/16 season she finished in the top ten four times in the World Cup singles. She won second place over 500 m in Montreal and also second place with the relay. In the following season she won the season three times third and once second place. Over 1500 m she won her first individual victory in the World Cup in Dresden and took third place in Gangneung . At the end of the season, she finished third in the 1500 m World Cup. Her best results at the 2017 World Championships in Rotterdam were 11th place over 1500 m and fifth place with the relay. At the beginning of the 2017/18 season she was second in Budapest over 1000 m and 1500 m. This was followed by another second place over 500 m in Dordrecht and two victories, each over 500 m and 1000 m, in Shanghai . At the end of the World Cup season in Seoul she took third place over 1500 m and second place over 1000 m and reached fourth place in the World Cup over 500 m, third place in the World Cup over 1500 m and first place in the World Cup over 1000 m. At the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang , she won the bronze medal in both the 500 m and the 1500 m, and the silver medal over the 1000 m. In March 2018, she won the 1500 m and the bronze medal with the relay at the World Championships in Montreal.

In the 2018/19 season, Boutin was sixth in the 1500 m World Cup and fifth in the 1000 m World Cup. She came twice in second and third place and won the 1000 m run in Turin . In addition, she took third place with the relay and first place with the mixed relay in Almaty and second with the mixed relay in Turin. At the 2019 World Championships in Sofia she won over 1000 m, in the all around and with the relay the bronze medal and over 1500 m the silver medal. In the following season she took eight wins, seven of them in singles and also finished twice in second place and four times in third place. She won the World Cup over 500 m and came ninth in the World Cup over 1000 m and fifth in the World Cup over 1500 m.
