Kimmo Yliriesto (born January 28, 1983 in Rovaniemi ) is a former Finnish ski jumper who started for the Lahden Hiihtoseura club .

Career

Yliriesto made his debut on December 3, 2000 at the competition in Kuopio in the World Cup, here he finished 56th. In the same season he was on February 1, 2001 in the Polish Karpacz-Szklarska Junior World Champion with the team, 2000 in Štrbské Pleso he had the same Bronze won the competition.

His first World Cup points won the Finn on 24 January 2002 at the competition in the Japanese Hakuba , where he took a tenth place. A few days earlier, on January 27 of the same year, he also achieved his only World Cup podium when he finished third with the Finnish team in Sapporo . His best individual World Cup result is a seventh place, dated February 5, 2005 in Sapporo.

In Sapporo he was able to win his first victory in the Ski Jumping Continental Cup on January 16, 2005 , followed by another on February 18, 2006 in Iron Mountain, Michigan, USA . In addition, there are second and third places on the podium in the Continental Cup, which he achieved at the competition weekend 15./16. In December 2001 he sprang in Lahti.

In the 2001/2002 season and in the 2004/2005 season , the Finn was also used over longer distances in the World Cup, but mainly jumped and jumps in the Continental Cup.

Yliriesto ended his career a few years ago. He currently lives in Hollola .
