King Khalid Military City (abbreviated KKMC ; Arabic مدينة الملك خالد العسكرية, DMG Madīnat al-Malik Ḫālid al-ʿAskarīya ) is a military city in Saudi Arabia .

Planning for the city began in 1974 and construction was completed in 1987. In November 1984, the heads of state of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GKR) decided to form a rapid action force called the Peninsula Shield (Dara ′ Al-Jazirah). This force was formed from units from all member states. It consists of around 10,000 soldiers and is stationed in King Khalid Military City.
