History and design

inside view

At the place where the Don Bosco church and the parish center stand today, there was a toll booth and a powder magazine until the 1930s. The Order of the Salesians, named after their founder Johannes Bosco , built the center and church in 1935. The youth rooms as well as sports and play areas are entirely in the spirit of Don Bosco, who is also called the Apostle of Youth.

The powder tower at the linden cross came from the 18th century. The interior of the church is simply designed and was the result of renovation work on the previous building. After the construction of the apse , a gallery for the choir and organ, a main nave with side aisles was built. A tower and a vestibule were added to the outside. The fresco in the apse depicts the Virgin Mary, the baby Jesus, Don Bosco and God the Father with two angels. The designs come from the artist Ludwig von Kurz-Goldenstein .
