The Kyrgyz Mountains (also called Kyrgyz Alatau ; Kyrgyz Кыргыз Ала-Тоо ) are up to 4895.4 m high mountains in Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan ( Central Asia ).
The mountains that make up the western part of the Tianshan are located in the northwest and north of Kyrgyzstan and in the southeast of Kazakhstan. It extends in a west-east direction over a length of around 375 km. To the northwest, the Kyrgyz mountains descend to the Mujunkum desert , to the north to the broad valley of the Tschüi , in which Bishkek is located.
