Kirk Francis

Kirk Francis (born August 27, 1947 in Oakland , California ) is an American sound engineer .

Life

Francis began his career in the film business in 1972. By his retirement in 2015 he worked on 63 film productions, including three films from the Jason Bourne series and Steven Spielberg's Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull . Occasionally, Francis also worked on television productions, including episodes from the television series Remington Steele , NAM - Service in Vietnam, and Hawaii Five-0 . In 1998 he was nominated for the first Oscar in the category Best Sound for LA Confidential . While the award went to Titanic this year , Francis won the BAFTA Film Award in the Best Sound category for LA Confidential . In his second Oscar nomination in 2008 , he received the prize for The Bourne Ultimatum, along with Scott Millan and David Parker . He also received his second BAFTA Film Award for the film.
