Klaus Göbel
Klaus Göbel (born July 18, 1942 in Frankfurt am Main ) is a German jazz musician ( organ , also keyboards ).
Live and act
Göbel already played the accordion as a four-year-old and learned to play the piano autodidactically as a child . At the Helmholtz School he came into contact with jazz. After discovering an old Hammond organ , he switched to it and performed in American clubs in his hometown in the 1960s, as well as in Carlo Bohländer's domicile du jazz . In 1970 he appeared at the German Jazz Festival with the rock jazz group From , which he founded with Gustl Mayer and Kurt Bong ; with the group, which existed until 1976, he presented two albums. Then he went about his job as a mechanical engineer until the acid jazz made the organ sound current again. In 1994 he founded the band Organizm with Jürgen Schwab , Michael Ehret and bassist Patrick Langer. He also performed with the hr big band . His album Finally Back Home (2000) was recognized in Weltwoche as "the most beautiful organ record in a long time".
