The Kleine Wall (also love island ) is a river island of the Havel in Berlin . It belongs to the district of Hakenfelde in the Spandau district ; it has the address Am Bootshaus 24.

The oval-shaped, 2,228 m² island has a length of around 80 and a width of around 35 meters. It is located in the section of the Havel, known as Spandauer See , opposite the Spandauer Nordhafen and the Maselake Bay, 90 meters below (south) the Spandauer See Bridge and 330 meters north of the much larger island of Eiswerder .

The island, which consists of poplars, linden, chestnut and maple trees, is privately owned. On the island there are some leasehold weekend buildings built close together. The central building is the former restaurant Zur Liebesinsel on the southern half of the island. The restaurant, which was only rebuilt and renovated in 1998, has been closed since 2008. During operating hours, the restaurant could only be reached by the restaurant's own ferry, which could be requested by phone from the bank of the Havel.

The building is said to have been built around 1880. Other information, according to which the house was built in 1905 by a master builder from Spandau, is unlikely, since the Unity Spandau Anglers' Association held its founding meeting in this restaurant in 1901 . The narrow house has a tower that was supposedly built on the model of the Binger mouse tower . It is very likely that the “Spandau Mäuseturm” was used by the Spandau garrison as a lookout point. Because both the Kleine Wall and the upstream sister island Großer Wall served military purposes and exercises in the late 19th century. The opposite, western banks of the Havel on the road Havel ski jump was part of the fortress area of 1873 developed into a fortress Spandau and belonged to the 1st Battalion of the 3rd  Guard -Grenadier Regiment "Queen Elizabeth". According to Klaus-Dieter Wille, the naming of the islands goes back to this time in the city, which was defused in 1903 . So be, Wall 'here no geographical, but a military term. The second name Love Island is said to have already formed during this time, as the soldiers used the island as a love nest .

Between 1900 and 1930 the restaurant was called "Sportpark", but was also called "Mouse Tower" at that time. A water sports map published in 1963 names the restaurant without any further additions “To the island of love”.
