Lahde monastery mill
The Klostermühle Lahde is a listed mill in Lahde , a district of the East Westphalian town of Petershagen in the Minden-Lübbecke district ( North Rhine-Westphalia ).
History and architecture
This is the rare combination of a gallery dutchman , made of partly plastered brick , with a water mill .
The watermill has been documented since 1292. It was rebuilt in 1876 after a fire and the windmill was added. The windmill has sail gate wings and a compass rose . The plant was electrified in 1930, so that the grinding technology has been driven electrically ever since. The watermill's rare screw wheel was replaced by a turbine in 1955. The hood of the tower, including the sail wings and gallery, was reconstructed in 1980 by the Petershagen mill building yard in order to give the building the appearance of a windmill again. Two wings broke off in the 1990 storm and were replaced by new buildings in 1993. At the same time, the mill hood and the wind rose were renewed.
