The Konrad-Adenauer -brücke leads over the Moselle in Trier . In addition to the Römerbrücke and Kaiser Wilhelm Bridge , it is the third and youngest Moselle bridge in the city. It is located in the south of Trier and leads from the Trier-Süd district at the Benedictine Abbey of St. Matthias to the Trier-Euren district west of the Moselle . The construction became necessary because of the new industrial area, in the area of the former Trier airport near Euren on the left side of the Moselle. The structure was carried out as a steel box bridge. The bridge was opened to traffic in 1973 and has three lanes on both sides.

The bridge is of considerable importance for road traffic because the next road bridge upstream over the Moselle is only available in Grevenmacher , approx. 18 km away.
