Constitutional state system

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A state system is called constitutional if it is based on a constitution (constitution). Usually one speaks z. B. from a constitutional monarchy , if this has carried out a distribution of power between the king and - according to a corresponding constitution - a parliament .

A constitutional monarchy, for example, was drafted by the National Assembly in the Paulskirche , which first met on May 18, 1848. Although this draft constitution was adopted on March 27, 1849, it was never legally effective because Friedrich Wilhelm IV rejected an empire created by representatives of the people .
