Koori (Aborigines)

Koori (also Koorie ) is the name with which the Aborigines in New South Wales and Victoria refer to themselves, regardless of which Aboriginal tribe they belong to; it is the established term for Aboriginal people in south-east Australia .

In some languages ​​of South-East Australia the words coorie , kory , kuri , kooli , koole mean "person" or "people". In the 1960s, the Koori form prevailed.
