The Kraaker Kiessee even Kraaker lake , is incurred by gravel mining quarry pond near the village Kraak, of the municipality Rastow in the district Ludwigslust-Parchim belongs in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.
The lake is located 300 meters west of Kraak, directly 70 meters next to the federal highway 24 running in the southwest . With the exception of the east, the area around the water is forested. There is a wider strip of sand on the northern bank. The gravel lake has an almost rectangular shape and a maximum size of about 350 by 220 meters. The water area takes up 6.8 hectares, the circumference is a little more than one kilometer. The lake is 32.4 m above sea level. HN and thus about 1.5 meters below the level of the surrounding area. Only in the southwest is the area up to four meters above the water level, which is why the banks in the south and west are sloping.
The body of water was created artificially around 1980 by the accumulation of groundwater in a gravel pit. The excavated gravel was used around 1980 to build the transit motorway from Hamburg to Wittstock / Dosse, today's A 24. Other gravel lakes on the A 24 in the Ludwigslust-Parchim district are in Neu Zachun and Dreenkrögen .
The lake is used for local recreation.
