The Kranich Museum is located in the Hessenburg manor house , a district of Saal in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania . It opened its doors for the first time on September 24, 2011. A collection of international art is exhibited in the building and for this purpose it has been renovated. The collection deals with the crane , a migratory bird that is in the area every spring and autumn.

The building

The museum comprises twelve rooms, a library, a reading room, a small shop, a café and the Alte Schmiede restaurant .
