Kwasio (also Ngumba ) is the Bantu language of the Ngumba and is spoken by around 17,500 people in Cameroon and Equatorial Guinea (1982 census).

It is widespread in Cameroon in the Océan district in the Sud province with around 9,000 speakers and in Equatorial Guinea in Mbini with around 8,500 speakers.

classification

Kwasio is a north-west Bantu language and belongs to the Makaa-Njem group , which is classified as the Guthrie Zone A80.

It has the dialects Kwassio (also Bisio), Mvumbo (also Ngoumba, Mgoumba and Mekuk) and Mabi (also Mabea).
