71-134 (also LM-99 ) is the name of a series of tram vehicles .

It is that of the Russian mechanical tram Petersburg factory (PTMS) most frequently produced tram vehicle . The type is also referred to as LM-99 based on earlier PTMS tram types ; the abbreviation LM means L eningradski M otorny ( Russian Ленинградский Моторный , German Leningrader railcar), the number 99 corresponds to the year 1999 of the first vehicle.

A total of 325 copies of this four-axle high-floor vehicle were produced for fourteen cities in Russia. Because of the poor workmanship, many cities canceled the contracts or did not accept vehicles. Originally, this vehicle was not intended to be used in St. Petersburg , the city of Osinniki had commissioned this vehicle. Later, the St. Petersburg public transport company decided to purchase these cars and bought 187 LM-99s of various modifications, which have since replaced large parts of the LM-68M and all of the KTM-5s .

After the first three prototypes were successfully tested by several depots, series production began in 2000 and ended in September 2008. Before the redesign of the car body at the end of 2005, various changes had been made to the door arrangement and a car with a low-floor section had been built.

The 71-134 is a one-way vehicle and can therefore only run on lines with turning loops or triangles at the ends of the route. In addition, it can only be used as a solo multiple unit; the vehicle has no possibility of multiple traction and there are no sidecars.
