Lasa valley

The Laas Valley is an orographically right side valley of the Vinschgau or upper Adige Valley in South Tyrol ( Italy ). It measures about 7 km in north-south direction and administratively belongs entirely to the municipality of Laas . It is surrounded by a sub-group of the Ortler Alps , the Lasa Mountains , a number of which rise more than 3000  m , including the Hohe Angelus , the Vertainspitze , the Schildspitze and the Lasa Peak . The entire valley is protected and uninhabited in the Stelvio National Park , only the Obere Laaser Alm is a base for hikers and mountaineers. It is drained by the Laaser Bach , which is fed by the Laaser Ferner and in the Vinschger valley floor near Laas Etsch flows into it. On the slopes of Jennwand by being near the Talausgangs marble track taken away Laas marble mined.
