State government Pröll III
The provincial government Pröll III formed the Lower Austrian provincial government during the XV. Legislative period from April 16, 1998 to April 24, 2003. After the state elections on March 22, 1998 , the distribution of government seats remained unchanged. The Austrian People's Party (ÖVP) provided five government members, the Social Democratic Party of Austria (SPÖ) three government members and the Freedom Party of Austria (FPÖ) one government member. The government succeeded the state government Pröll I and initially remained largely unchanged compared to the previous government . Only Ewald Wagner (SPÖ) was replaced by Johann Bauer and Edmund Freibauer (ÖVP) from Wolfgang Sobotka as regional councilor. During the legislative period there were constant changes in the composition of the staff. On April 13, 1999, Hans Jörg Schimanek (FPÖ) left the government. He was succeeded on April 29th by Ewald Stadler , who, however, resigned from his position as regional councilor on June 27th, 2001. Stadler was replaced on June 28, 2001 by Ernest Windholz . There were also major changes in the composition of the government in the SPÖ. After Ernst Höger resigned as Deputy Governor on November 18, 1999, the previous Provincial Councilor, Johann Bauer, took over as the new Deputy Governor on the same day. On the same day, Traude Votruba (SPÖ) resigned for health reasons and was replaced by Christa Kranzl . After Ernst Höger's departure, Friedrich Knotzer was added as the new regional councilor . After Johann Bauer resigned on October 5, 2000, Karl Schlögl moved into the government as the new Deputy Governor. Schlögl switched to the private sector on April 19, 2001 and was replaced by Heidemaria Onodi on that day . In the ÖVP there was only one change during the government period when Franz Blochberger was replaced by Josef Plank on June 29, 2000 .
