Gunslinger (2012)

The lyrics to Lass uns geht are written in German. The music was written by Niels Grötsch, Kristoffer Hünecke, Jakob Sinn and Johannes Strate and the text by Kristoffer Hünecke and Johannes Strate. Musically, the song moves in the field of pop-rock . In addition to the main vocals of Strate, the remaining members of Revolverheld can be heard in the background, as well as the two musicians involved in the production, Chris Rodriguez and Philipp Steinke, and the singers Jonatha Brooke , Anne de Wolff , Ulrich Rode and Valentine Romanski .

The song is about deceleration: out of everyday life and away from things that stress or boring, towards freedom and the good life, so the tenor. The text also addresses the fact that far too often people do not notice how captivated they are by supposedly important everyday problems.

“Let's get out of here.
Behind Hamburg, Berlin or Cologne,
the rain stops filling the streets.
Can we finally hear again,
the sea and the waves.
Let's go, let's go, let's go. "

- Refrain, original excerpt

“You're out for us;
because in Hamburg, Berlin or Cologne,
people are looking forward to the EM.
Özil for Germany
and Can and Sané .
No problem, no problem, no problem.

Boateng and Gómez does not hurt,
even Mustafi is the DFB .
And Khedira is German, which is easy to bear.
We watch E, watch M, Olé. "

- Refrain, Em song for the concerned citizens

Bundesvision Song Contest 2014

Revolverheld won the Bundesvision Song Contest 2014 for their state of Bremen with 56 points ahead of the band Jupiter Jones , who played for Rhineland-Palatinate , with the song Suddenly the world stops (124 points). During the scoring of all 16 federal states, Revolverheld set themselves apart from their fellow competitors early on by a clear margin. From their home town of Bremen and nine other federal states they each received full points. In the run-up to the performances, small clips were shown for promotion, where Stefan Raab and the Heavytones met the performers in a rehearsal room. Here they all played an acoustic version of their first contribution, remain friends . During their performance, they referred to their accompanying music video by depicting the beginning of the video as puppets.

This was Revolverheld's second participation in this competition. Already in 2006 they competed for Bremen with the title Friends to Stay and at that time took second place behind Seeed , who won for Berlin with the song Ding . For Bremen it is the first victory at the BSC.

When asked why they are participating again, they said the following in an interview with tvtotal: “The BuviSoCo is a big family gathering. Many bands we are friends with will be there again this year. That always ends with a passable party. In addition, there is no other program on German TV in which German-language music gets so much attention. "

Reviews

The former German national soccer player Marco Bode wrote the following in "Track by Track" about let's go :

“Nice, slightly melancholy song about the longing for peace, nature and the time to deal with the important questions in life again. Routine and without inappropriate effects, this is what “let's go” sounds like, and yet it is difficult to classify into a particular genre. Good thing, because the thoughtful text is in the foreground, which prompts us all to stick our heads out of the rabbit fur again and think about the meaning behind the stressful everyday life. "
