The Laura Biathlon and Cross-Country Skiing Center ( Russian Комплекс для соревнований по лыжным гонкам и биатлону "Лаура" ) is a combined biathlon and cross-country skiing stadium in the Russian region of Krasnar . The facility is located on the Psechako mountain ridge ( Chrebet Psechako ) about six kilometers from the mountain village of Krasnaya Polyana at an altitude of just under 1500 meters above sea level. NN. It comprises two separate stadiums with their own start and finish areas as well as several networks of trails . The two stadiums were officially opened in June 2013 and each offer space for 7,500 spectators.

The center was one of the competition venues for the 2014 Winter Olympics and the 2014 Winter Paralympics . The center of Sochi, the host city, was around 60 kilometers to the west. The biathlon and cross-country skiing competitions as well as parts of the Nordic combined were held on the site . In the pre-Olympic season, cross-country skiing world cup races and the eighth biathlon world cup took place there in February and March 2013 .

The name Laura comes from a wild mountain river in the Caucasus and has its origins in a legend about a young girl of the same name who jumped from a rock into the river and was never found.
