Laurie Blouin (born April 7, 1996 in Stoneham-et-Tewkesbury , Québec ) is a Canadian snowboarder . She starts in the disciplines of slopestyle and big air .

Career

Blouin has been participating in the Ticket to Ride World Snowboard Tour and FIS competitions since 2011 . In February 2011 she won her first national win at SlopeStyle CSR in Le Relais . In the 2011/12 season she won the slopestyle at the BC Snowboard Provincial Series at the Sun Peaks Resort and at the Snow Crown Junior Event in Calgary . She reached third place in slopestyle at the Billabong Flaunt It on Mont Saint-Sauveur . She made her World Cup debut in February 2012 in Stoneham , which she finished in eighth place in slopestyle.

In March 2013 Blouin won gold in slopestyle at the Snowboard Junior World Championships in Erzurum . That same month, she finished second in slopestyle at the Snow Crown in Calgary . In the 2013-14 season she won the Le Relais Slopestyle and took third place at the Billabong Flaunt It in Lake Louise . The following season, she won slopestyle at Billabong Flaunt It on Mount St Louis and Sport Chek Air Nation in Whistler, and came second in the Dew Tour Am Series at Sun Peaks Resort . At the Snow Crown in Blue Mountain she took second place in Big Air and first place in slopestyle competition. At the beginning of the 2015/16 season , she achieved her first podium finish in the World Cup with second place in Slopestyle in Cardrona . The FIS Snowboard World Championships 2016 in Yabuli , she won the 22th place in the slopestyle and finished fourth in the Big Air. In season 2016/17 they won the Slopestyle at the Grandvalira Total Fight and finished the World Cup on the Seiser Alm second place in the Slopestyle. At the Snowboard World Championships 2017 in Sierra Nevada , she won the gold medal in slopestyle. She also came in sixth in Big Air there.

In the 2017/18 season Blouin took second place in Big Air at the World Cup in Québec and at the World Ski & Snowboard Festival in Whistler. At the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang , she won the silver medal in slopestyle on February 12 and finished in 12th place in Big Air. After finishing third in Big Air at the World Cup in Beijing at the beginning of the 2018/19 season, she won the gold medal in Big Air at the Winter X Games 2019. At the Snowboard World Championships in Park City in 2019 , she was ninth in Slopestyle. In March 2019, she took second place in the Big Air at the World Cup in Québec and finally 12th place in the Freestyle World Cup and fifth place in the Big Air World Cup. The following month she finished third in Big Air at the World Ski and Snowboard Festival in Whistler . At the X-Games Norway 2019 in Fornebu , she came fourth in Big Air. In mid-December 2019, she finished third at the Big Air World Cup in Beijing, behind the Japanese Miyabi Onitsuka and the Austrian Anna Gasser . In the 2019/20 season she achieved third, second and first place, fifth place in the Freestyle World Cup and second place in the Slopestyle World Cup. At the Winter X Games 2020 she won the silver medal in slopestyle and at the X Games Norway 2020 in Hafjell the bronze medal in Big Air.
