Lee Holdridge

Lee Elwood Holdridge (born March 3, 1944 in Port-au-Prince , Haiti ) is an American composer who mainly composes for television films and television series . His best known works are Beastmaster - The Liberator , Splash - A Maiden on the Hook and Beauty and the Beast .

Life

Lee Holdridge was born in Haiti to the American botanist Leslie Holdridge and a Puerto Rican . However, Holdridge grew up in Costa Rica and began to be interested in the violin at the age of ten , which is why he took music lessons. After only five years he was enthusiastic about the idea of ​​composing himself, so he asked his parents to send him to his aunt and uncle in Boston so that he could study music there. And there he then studied privately with Henry Lasker . And after he composed at the age of 18 years, his first piano piece, he went to New York City , where he at college Nicolas Flagello studied who it later because of his own work on the film drama Doctor Zhivago , conducted Maurice Jarre , for Film composition brought.
