action

This is followed by recordings of the first world title filmed in 1897 between Corbett and the winner Bob Fitzsimmons and the fight between James J. Jeffries and Tom Sharkey, which Jeffries won in 1899. The next film document shows Jack Johnson's victory over world champion Tommy Burns in 1908 and Johnson's fight against Jess Willard , overshadowed by a fraud scandal in 1915 , in which Johnson was knocked out.

Jack Dempsey is shown joking with the likes of Charles Chaplin and Douglas Fairbanks . His victory in a brutal fight against Willard is the subject of the next film clips. Dempsey's loss to Gene Tunney follows .
