Bengt Lennart Norberg (born January 21, 1949 in Härnösand ) is a former Swedish ice hockey player .

Career

Lennart Norberg began his career as an ice hockey player at Timrå IK , for whose professional team he was active from 1967 to 1979. With Timrå he first played in Division 1 , the then highest Swedish league. In the 1975/76 season he joined his team in the newly founded Elitserien , but had to accept relegation to the now second-class Division 1 with Timrå. In this he succeeded with his team in the 1976/77 season of direct promotion, followed by relegation in the 1977/78 season . In the following season he missed the return to the top Swedish league with Timrå in the playoffs. Therefore, the defender left the club and ran from 1979 to 1982 for the Elitserien participant IF Björklöven before ending his career at the age of 33.

International

For Sweden , Norberg took part in the World Championships in 1978 , 1979 and 1981 and the 1980 Winter Olympics in Lake Placid . At the 1979 World Cup and the 1980 Winter Olympics, he and his team won the bronze medal and the silver medal at the 1981 World Cup.
