Leopold Höchtl

Leopold Höchtl (born April 22, 1870 in Edelbach , † February 19, 1947 in Gars am Kamp ) was an Austrian politician ( CSP ) and business owner. Höchtl was a member of the Constituent National Assembly from 1919 to 1920 , then from 1920 to 1927 a member of the National Council and between 1927 and 1934 a member of the Lower Austrian state parliament .

After attending elementary school, Höchtl graduated from the agricultural school in Edelhof and performed his military service with the rank of non-commissioned officer. In 1896 he took over the family business in Edelbach. Politically, Höchtl was initially active in local politics, where he held the office of mayor of Edelbach from 1900 to 1922. In addition, he held various functions in agricultural cooperatives and was active as district farmers' chamber chairman. Höchtl represented the Christian Social Party between March 4, 1919 and November 9, 1920 in the Constituent National Assembly, was then a member of the National Council from November 10, 1920 to May 18, 1927 and then moved to the Lower Austrian Landtag, where he was the Christian Social Party Represented the party between May 20, 1927 and October 30, 1934.
