Leopold Neuhold

Leopold Neuhold (* 1954 ) is an Austrian Roman Catholic theologian and ethicist . He teaches at the Institute for Ethics and Social Studies at the Catholic Theological Faculty of the Karl Franzens University in Graz .

Life

Neuhold studied in Graz theology focusing ethics and social studies . He was a university lecturer in ethics and Christian social studies. In 2001 he became head of the Institute for Ethics and Social Studies. The married father of four children was appointed university professor for ethics and social studies in 2003 to succeed Valentin Zsifkovits , whose assistant he was previously .

His main research interests are Catholic social teaching , changing values , sociology of religion , sociology of youth , modern society and Catholic social teaching, ethics of peace and ethics of sport. At the moment he is mainly concerned with issues related to digitization . He is also a member of the new research focus of the Karl-Franzens-University Graz "Smart Regulation", which also deals with this topic.
