Les Mureaux is a commune with 32,792 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Yvelines in the region Ile-de-France 39 km west of Paris . It is located in the canton of Meulan-en-Yvelines at an altitude of about 18 to 53 meters.
geography
Les Mureaux lies on the low lying plain of the Seine on the left bank of the river about 40 kilometers west of Paris.
The city has a transport connection to the railway line from Paris to Rouen , as well as a connection to the A13 motorway through Normandy . Les Mureaux has a small airfield outside the urban area.
Population development
The population of the medium-sized town in the Paris catchment area grew at an above-average rate until the beginning of the 1990s. Since then, the number of inhabitants has decreased slightly. 60% of the apartments were built in social housing.
