Letsie III. [ leˈt͡siɪ ] (born July 17, 1963 in Morija ; maiden name David Mohato Bereng Seeiso ) has been king ( Sesotho : motlotlehi ) of Lesotho since 1996 . He held this office during the exile of his father Moshoeshoe II from 1990 to 1995. He resides in the royal palace in Matsieng .

Life

Letsie III. was born the first of three children to Moshoeshoe II, later King of Lesotho, and his wife 'Mamohato . His name was David Mohato Bereng Seeiso. He spent his youth in England, where he also graduated from school. He obtained in 1984 the Bachelor degree in Law of the National University of Lesotho . He then went back to England and studied law in Bristol and development studies in Cambridge until 1989.
