Lev Leshchenko Walerjanowitsch ( Russian Лев Валерьянович Лещенко * 1. February 1942 in Moscow ) is a Russian Estrada - singer ( baritone ).

Life

youth

Leschchenko spent his childhood in the Moscow district of Sokolniki . 1961 began his service in the Soviet Army . He wanted to join the Navy, but his father Valeryan Andreevich Leschtschenko (1904-2004) insisted that his son be used in the group of the Soviet armed forces in Germany . In September 1964 he began to study at the Russian Academy of Theater Arts .

Career

Since the 1970s, the young singer's popularity grew. In 1972 he received his first award at an international music competition, the Sopot Festival in Poland . One of his most famous songs is Victory Day (music by Dawid Tuchmanow , text by Vladimir Kharitonov ). The song was written for the 30th anniversary of the victory over Nazi Germany in the Great Patriotic War and is still very popular in the 21st century. The composer Alexandra Pachmutowa wrote music for many of Leschchenko's songs, and Nikolai Dobronrawov wrote many texts .

At the 1980 Olympic Games in Moscow, Leschchenko sang the song Auf Wiedersehn, Moscow at the closing ceremony in the central Lenin Stadium , while the mascot of the Games, Misha , flew up as an eight-meter-tall rubber doll with many balloons.

Private

Leschtschenko was married to the singer and actress Alla Abdalowa (* 1941) from 1966 to 1976. He has been married to Irina Leschtschenko (born Bagudina, * 1954) since 1978. He has no children.

Leschchenko is an honorary citizen of Kursk Oblast .
