history

The gear technology division was founded in Kirchdorf in 1952 and relocated to the Kempten location in 1962. This has a total area of ​​145,000 m², of which 56,600 m² are built over. In the 1970s, the number of employees exceeded the 1000 mark. Production lines in the Soviet Union were among the most famous objects at the time . As a result, Soviet ministers and economic experts also visited Kempten.

At the beginning of the 1990s, the company got into economic difficulties due to the collapse of the Soviet Union , which was the largest customer at the time. Within a few years, however, the company recovered and in 1999 employed around 630 people. A year earlier, sales of 167 million euros were achieved.

An extensive extension building was completed in 2011. The six-aisled production hall is 100 meters wide, 150 meters long and 19 meters high. The costs for this amounted to 30 million euros.

In 2011, 900 people were employed at the Kempten location. The managing directors are Michael Messer, Hans Gronbach, Christian Lang and Michael Schuster.
