Lindemann's rest
The Lindemannsruhe is a hill on the Freinsheim district in the Bad Dürkheim district . It is located at an altitude of 465 m above sea level. NN in the foothills of the Palatinate Forest , below the Peterskopf (487 m above sea level) and was named after the former chief forester Lindemann.
It is the starting point for many hikers and walkers as well as a training circuit for many mountain bikers and cyclists . The forester's house "Lindemannsruhe", founded in 1927, and a parking lot are located on the hill. The forest area on the Lindemannsruhe is dominated by the sweet chestnut . The road to Lindemannshöhe is partly only one-lane on the western side, while on the eastern side it is consistently two-lane. Nearby is the Bismarck Monument with the Bismarck Tower .
Trivia
Due to its location as an exclave, the forester's house Lindemannsruhe is the only building in Freinsheim to have both a different postcode and area code. 67098 instead of 67251 , and 06322 instead of 06353 .
Sports
- The Palatinate Mountain Sprint has been leading via Höningen to the Lindemannsruhe since 2001
- The Lindemannsruhe is part of the Maxdorfer Triathlon bike course, which has to be conquered twice from Leistadt .
- Due to well-marked hiking trails by the Palatinate Forest Association , the Lindemannsruhe is a starting point for large and small hikes, e.g. B. to the Bismarck Tower or the Ungeheuersee .
