Lionel Lindon

Lionel Lindon (born September 2, 1905 in San Francisco , California , † September 20, 1971 in Van Nuys , California) was an American cameraman .

Life

Lionel Lindon began his career in the film business as a camera operator in the 1930s. In total he worked on more than 100 productions.

In 1945, he was for his work on The Road to Happiness for the Oscar nominated. In 1957 he was able to win this for his work on Around the World in 80 Days . Two years later there was another Oscar nomination.

From the 1950s onwards, Lindon worked repeatedly for television, where he mainly worked on various television series. In the 1970s he worked exclusively for various television productions. In 1970 and 1791 he was awarded an Emmy .

He worked several times with the director John Frankenheimer , the last time in 1969 in the film The Extraordinary Seaman .
