The Lishui Bridge ( Chinese 澧水 大桥 ) is a suspension bridge near Zhangjiajie , in Hunan Province , China. The bridge spans the Lishui River gorge between Yongding and Yongshun . The bridge is part of the extension of the Changsha – Zhangjiajie Highway to Huayuan , about halfway through the 8-hour drive between Zhangjiajie and Chongqing . At 330 m above the river, the bridge is one of the highest bridges in the world.

construction

An innovative technique was used in the construction of the bridge. The lead rope was shot across the gorge by a missile. The last section was connected on July 11, 2012, thus completing the main structure of the bridge. The bridge and the associated expressway opened in December 2013.

tourism

A lookout stop was built at the eastern end of the bridge. It offers a panoramic view of the bridge and Lishui Gorge.
