List of the Abbots of Schussenried
Provosts and abbots of the Norbertine - monastery Schussenried in Bad Schussenried , Upper Swabia, from its founding in 1183 until the dissolution of 1802. The abbots of the imperial abbey of Schussenried were as Reich prelates members of the Swabian kingdom prelate College of the Holy Roman Empire .
Toast
The coats of arms of the provosts are given according to Bernhard Rueß 'essay Schussenrieder Wappen (1930–1932) and correspond to the formation of tradition in the monastery (based on a wash basin from 1706 and the "silver book" by P. Franz Mayer from 1705); however, they are certainly largely apocryphal. The descriptions of the coat of arms according to Rueß are not complete, in particular the tinging is missing for many . The portraits shown based on the silver book are products of the imagination of the draftsman of the 18th century.

Abbots (from 1440)
The coat of arms descriptions according to Rueß do not always completely correspond to the coats of arms depicted in historical paintings (such as the portrait gallery of the abbots) or sculptures (on churches, parsonages, epitaphs). Rueß 'excessive descriptions have also been streamlined for this list. In addition, many of the coats of arms shown are accompanied by the monastery coat of arms or quartered with it.
