List of monuments in Kaliningrad

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This list of monuments in Kaliningrad contains monuments of the former city of Koenigsberg as well as the current city of Kaliningrad .

With two exceptions (Schiller Memorial and Fighting Wisente), all the monuments of the former Königsberg were destroyed or otherwise lost in the course of the Second World War and afterwards. After the extensive destruction, the Soviets completely rebuilt the city. A number of monuments and memorials were also recreated under Soviet rule, mostly related to the Great Patriotic War . In the post-Soviet period, too, some new monuments were created, as well as some lost monuments from the Königsberg period reconstructed or recreated as copies.
