Lorraine Gary

Lorraine Gary (* 16th August 1937 in New York City , New York , as Lorraine Gottfried ) is an American former actress .

Live and act

Lorraine Gary made her debut in 1967 on an episode of the television series Police Report . From 1968 to 1973 she appeared in some episodes of the television series The Boss . In the television drama The City (1971) she starred on the side of Anthony Quinn . In 1977 she appeared in the film drama I never promised you a rose garden .

In Jaws , Gary played the role of Ellen Brody, wife of Police Chief Martin Brody ( Roy Scheider ). She also appeared in two sequels to the hit film. For The Jaws - Die Abrechnung (1987) she was nominated for the Saturn Award and the Golden Raspberry at the same time . It was to be her last film appearance. She had already by 1941 - Who Do I to Hollywood in 1979 from the film business adopted, but made for the third sequel to Jaws an exception.

Gary was married to the film producer Sid Sheinberg (1935-2019) since 1956 . They have two sons who also work as film producers, Bill Sheinberg and Jonathan Sheinberg .
