Louis Lewitan

Louis Lewitan (* 1955 in Lyon , France ) is a Franco-German psychologist and author.

Lewitan is active in consulting and coaching in the areas of leadership, change and crisis management. He is the author of various books, including a. “The art of staying calm” (2009), several cartoon books and co-author of the book “That was my rescue” (2012). Louis Lewitan has been interviewing personalities for the column "That was my rescue" in Zeitmagazin since 2009 and has written articles and a. for the Jüdische Allgemeine, Die Zeit, W&V.

Life

Levitan came to Munich as the son of Jewish parents at the age of eleven. He studied clinical psychology at the Ludwig Maximilians University . From 1984 to 1986 he was director of the youth and culture center of the IKG Munich. From 1986 to 1991 he was Executive Director of “CDR Child Development Research” and sponsor of the “Riker International Study of Organized Persecution of Children” in New York.

From 1992 to 1995 Lewitan worked as a clinical psychologist at the Center for Psychosomatic Medicine, Klinik Dr. Gourmet in Bad Wiessee. In 1996 he founded his own psychotherapeutic practice with a focus on stress and burnout. From 1998 to 2007 he was co-managing director of the management consultancy Lewitan & Püttmann, company for management development dBR. At the same time, he was managing director of go4vc GmbH from 2001 to 2006.

In 2006 Lewitan became ombudsman of the European Patent Office, he held this office until 2011. He has been the owner of Lewitan Coaching & Consulting since 2007.

Louis Lewitan is married to the artist Ilana Lewitan , has two daughters and lives in Munich.
