Louis Secco

Louis John Secco (born January 18, 1927 in Trail , British Columbia , † October 27, 2008 ) was a Canadian ice hockey player . At the 1952 Winter Olympics , he won the gold medal as a member of the Canadian national team.

Career

Louis Secco began his career as a hockey player with various junior teams in his home province of British Columbia. He then joined the Trail Smoke Eaters senior team in 1946 . There he stayed for five years before he was committed to the 1951/52 season by the Edmonton Mercurys . In the same season he also played a game for the Kimberley Dynamiters. With the Edmonton Mercurys he represented Canada at the 1952 Winter Olympics. For the 1952/53 season he returned to the Trail Smoke Eaters. In the following years he also played for two years for the trial intermediates from the British Columbia Amateur Hockey Association. In the 1956/57 season he was in 16 games for the Rossland Warriors on the ice. In the following season he played five more games for the Smoke Eaters before ending his ice hockey career.

International

For Canada , Secco took part in the 1952 Winter Olympics in Oslo , where he and his team won the gold medal. In eight games he scored two goals and three assists.
