Louise Bertin
Louise-Angélique Bertin (born February 15, 1805 in Les Roches near Paris , † April 26, 1877 in Paris) was a French composer and poet . She was the daughter of Louis-François Bertins the Elder (1766-1841) (director of the Journal des débats ).
She was a student of François-Joseph Fétis . Several operas are ascribed to her:
- Guy Mannering ( 1825 )
- Le Loup-garou ("The Werewolf"), a comic opera from 1827
- Fausto ( 1831 )
- La Esmeralda , based on a book by Victor Hugo ( 1836 )
There are several instrumental works and six piano ballads by her and a collection of Glane's poems , which was awarded by the Académie française .
