Loverboy is a Canadian rock band that celebrated its greatest successes between 1981 and 1989 (mainly in Canada and the USA). Her albums went gold twice and platinum ten times in the United States . In your home country there have been three golds and eleven platinum.

Band history

The band was formed in early 1980 by Mike Reno (vocals), Matt Frenette (drums), Paul Dean (guitar), Scott Smith (electric bass) and Doug Johnson (keyboards).

With Loverboy , they released their first LP in March 1980 , the songs of which are based on the classic hard rock style and immediately came to number 13 in the American charts. Probably Loverboy's best known titles are Turn Me Loose and Working for the Weekend . They are often wrongly classified in the 1990s, but come from the years 1980 and 1981. The band Quiet Riot became known for their tour with Loverboy, on which they accompanied the band as an opening act .

Loverboys have played almost the original line-up for over 25 years. Only Scott Smith died in 2000 and was replaced by Ken "Spider" Sinnaeve. In 2009 the band was inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame .
