Luciano Giovannetti (born September 25, 1945 in Bottegone, Pistoia ) is a former Italian sports shooter .
Luciano Giovannetti, owner of a gun shop in his native Pistoia, won the gold medal in trap shooting at the 1980 Summer Olympics in Moscow and at the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles . At the 1980 Games, as a token of joy after his victory, he mimicked trap shooting by shooting his cap after throwing it into the air.
Between his two Olympic victories, he was also world champion in 1982. After the end of his active career, he worked as the Italian national coach. He was the first trap shooter in Olympic history to win two games in a row. The Australian Michael Diamond later also succeeded in this at the 1996 Games in Atlanta and 2000 in Sydney .
