The Ludwig Boltzmann Institute for Neo-Latin Studies ( LBI-Neulatein ) based in Innsbruck is a non-university research institution of the Ludwig Boltzmann Society . Partner organizations of the LBI-Neulatein are the University of Innsbruck , the University of Freiburg im Breisgau , the Austrian National Library in Vienna and the Pontificio Comitato di Scienze Storiche in Rome.

The institute, founded in 2011, is entirely dedicated to researching neo-Latin literature . In particular, the important role of neo-Latin literature in the development of early modern Europe should be highlighted. The LBI neo-Latin is based on the thesis that today's Europe would not exist in this form without neo-Latin literature. This thesis is elaborated on the basis of selected examples from the fields of politics, religion and the history of mentalities.
